Raymond Chan

Government and Stakeholder Relations in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Raymond Chan is a government relations and strategic communications professional with the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) of Ontario. He is responsible for the organization's government relations strategy and works among a team to manage regulations on electrical safety across the province. Raymond also oversees all aspects of stakeholder relations with the provincial government and the electrical industry.

Prior to working at ESA, Raymond was the Manager of Government and Stakeholder Relations at CAA Club Group where he worked on developing and promoting road safety initiatives. As the lead media spokesperson for the annual CAA Worst Roads Campaign, he was the face and voice, advocating for greater infrastructure investments across Ontario.

Raymond has also served as former advisor to a federal Member of Parliament and has held senior roles within political offices at the City of Toronto, including in the office of the Deputy Mayor and Council Speaker. Raymond has worked collaboratively with elected officials across all party lines, he knows and understands our three levels of government and how best to navigate them.

Outside of politics, Raymond has coached senior executives from the private and not-for-profit sectors in strategic communications, corporate planning, lobbying and public policy development. He's worked to build relationships by engaging external audiences and leveraging internal teams, all while delivering measurable results that have shaped public policy.

In addition to his professional work, Raymond has been a guest speaker at many industry conferences and has lectured at the college level. As a passionate youth advocate, mentor and supporter of life-long learning, he has volunteered his time with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto and currently serves as Vice-Chair on the board of directors for a municipal library corporation.

Raymond holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto and a post graduate diploma in Corporate Communications from Humber College.
